Island & Hills was born during a late night, bi-coastal phone call/vent session about six months P.G. (post grad). We had each moved to our respective cities (Maddie in NYC and Aditi in LA), started our first jobs, and the harsh realities of the “real world” were beginning to set in. We felt pressure to excel at our careers, seamlessly adapt to new environments, maintain relationships and foster new ones, all while trying to make it to yoga class on time. We, like the majority of our friends, were constantly trying to balance all the things that were important to us.
Living on opposite coasts, we both realized many of our goals and obstacles were the same even though our locations and experiences were different; with Island & Hills we have the opportunity to tell these stories and link together the common threads that we are all confronted with as early twenty somethings.
